Colleuges set stage for challenge of a lifetime

A team from a Stage and Theatre Lighting company in Oldham are setting the scene for the biggest challenge of their lives in a bid to raise cash for Cancer Research UK.

Team Nstage aim to complete the famous “Three Peaks Challenge” in just 24 hours.

The team of colleagues, all from Northern Stage Services Ltd, based in Shaw, Oldham. Are busy training to climb the three highest mountains in England, Scotland and Wales.

The 9 men plus support team are setting off on their trip on 17th September and have enrolled the help of Northern Stage Services Ltd, where they work.

The company has agreed to pay for the teams transport during their challenge and are helping them to raise money by circulating the challenge within the industry and beyond. The progress of the challenge is featured regularly on the company’s website.  www.nstage.co.uk
The challenge recently featured at two exhibitions attended by the company.

Paul Hay (spokesman) said: We decided on Cancer Research as a lot of our team have been touched personally by Cancer. The team recognises Cancer to be the biggest killer in the UK as it affects all ages and genders. We are therefore proud to be involved in the fight against cancer.

The men will climb more than 11,000ft and drive 450 miles in 24 hours; a huge challenge involving a lot of training and commitment.

Their spokesman said: “Even though the idea to do the challenge was thought up about 6 months before the event, the team began training immediately and soon came to realise how hard it was going to be. The level of commitment, sacrifice, and organisation required is immense.”
